The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research announces that York University of Erbil in which its syllabus is online based is not accredited; so, we ask students not to spend and waste their money for the tuition of the aforementioned university.
Regarding this, Abbas Akram, the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research’s spokesperson said, “It’s been a while a university so called York University opened its HQ in Erbil. Hereafter, we let the students and people of Kurdistan that the university does not belong to the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and has not been accredited and doesn’t have any permission by the Ministry.
Abbas Akram also explained that the system of online based education is accredited neither in Iraq nor in Kurdistan. Since the university is online based and has not considered the policy and not followed the Ministry’s system and the specific law at the Parliament of Kurdistan regarding the higher education.
