The KRG Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research announces the list of trusted foreign universities by the ministry for purposes of the KRG sponsored Human Capacity Development Program in Higher Education (HCDP) scholarship program , all other studying programs abroad, and equalization of academic certificates.

The preparation of this list is based upon scientific standards and criterions. We also took advantage from the international and national rankings of world universities in preparing the list.

Candidates who want to prolong with their studies abroad, they should take the following points into consideration:

  1. The new list of trusted foreign universities by the KRG Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research will be put into practice from the next September  8 Dec, 2016.
  2. Adherence to this list includes all kinds of higher education M.A. and PhD degrees abroad, including (education vacation, HCDP, Scholarships). The list also includes all those candidates who want purse higher education upon their own costs, and those who study during unpaid vacation days.
  3. Candidates who apply to study higher education abroad after  8 Dec, 2016 should get language course and academic course offers from a university that is included in the new list, otherwise after finishing the course and returning to the Kurdistan region their academic certificates will not be equalized by the KRG Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
  4. All candidates of higher education abroad, before travelling, should visit the Directorate of Scholarships and Cultural Relations in the KRG Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research’s Divan in Erbil, to ensure that the foreign university is within the list of trusted foreign universities by the KRG Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, as well as opening a study record in the Directorate of Scholarships and Cultural Relations.
  5. Candidates who are nor employee of the KRG and want to purse higher education abroad and willing to return home and work after graduation, should also adhere to the news list from the upcoming  8 Dec, 2016.
  6. The decision of adherence to the new list of trusted foreign universities by the KRG Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research is not applicable upon those who live abroad and have a foreign nationality identity.
  7. The new list of trusted foreign universities by the KRG Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research is not applicable upon those who started higher education abroad before September  8 Dec, 2016.
