Dr. Yusuf Goran, the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research had a speech regarding the importance of the Private Universities and said, “The Private Universities Don’t have to be a substitute for the Public Universities.”
Initiation of the Ceremony
In the announcement of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research was during a speech on Monday evening September 11th in the ceremony of Jihan University Commencement day in Erbil.
In the sixth commencement of the Jihan University Graduates in Erbil in the presence of Dr. Yusuf Goran, the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the president of some private and public universities, teachers union, teachers, governmental responsibilities, the families of graduates, the ceremony was in Jihan-Erbil University park and the certificate of 1543 students were given.
The ceremony started by passing the various departments of the university and the board, staff, and the instructor of the university. Then, some verses of holy Qur’an were read. Then, the guests stood to send peace in rest for the Kurdistan martyrs.
Kurdistan and its Historical Aims and Purposes
In doing this, Dr. Yusuf Goran, the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research gave a speech and in the beginning of his speech said, “I congratulate ourselves and the guests to the holy achievement of the our hero Peshmerga in the battle fields today. I hope this success leads to other success and our nation reaches its historical aims and purposes.”
It is important to pay attention to the Alumni
In another part of his speech, the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research hailed the importance of Jihan University in which it is one of the old established private university and has its own significance especially in the aspect of its paying attention to the centers and the international conference and Alumni following up cases and helping them in getting careers; the way they let the Ministry knows their issues and to know what is their problems.
The Focusing on Quality makes the Ministry give a better support
In the speech also, Dr. Yusuf Goran pointed to the strategy of his ministry and said, “Our Ministry’s strategy is supporting the private sector and has paid attention to this aspect. The aim of the support is that the private universities don’t have to be a substitute for the public ones. They have to have a better attention to increase the quality and have a scientific competition between.” He also said that KRG and the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research have done their best in this regard.”
For the first time the Private Universities Graduates can have the Chance of studying at the Public Universities for getting MA.
In the continuing of his speech, the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research told the graduates, “The graduates of the private universities can require master at the public universities.” He also said that different from the last years, the graduates of current year can have the same chance to apply for studying master. He described this step as an important achievement for the current year graduates and the private universities graduates in which the two-years of experience obstacle have been removed.
There should be an Economic and scientific aspect bring to the point of consideration by the Private Universities to grow the economics of Kurdistan
In his speech, Dr. Yusuf Goran said, “Jihan University has to strife like the other Private universities to get the international trust and has to work on the way of bringing the international students, students of the neighbors especially mid and south of Iraq to our universities. In this way, the private universities can have a better role in recovering the Kurdistan Economy in which now many countries used this way to improve their economy.
The graduates have to be a source for finding career for themselves and for the young people as well
At the end of his speech, the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research hailed the organizer of the ceremony and the instructors and the Jihan University staff to have a new generation and congratulated the graduates and their families and hoped that the graduates be an active new generation in Kurdistan to get more science and source of finding work opportunity for themselves and for the rest of Kurdistan Young people.
The decisions and instruction of the Ministry has become the strategic source of the private universities.
In the another part of the ceremony, Dr. Yahiya Nawzad Bajdger, the president of the board trustees of the university, Dr. Maouloud Fuad, the president of the Jihan University, Erbil released speech and in the speech after having a brief about the their university they explained that the instructions and decisions of the MHESR has become the strategy of their works at their university. In doing this, they thanked Dr. Yusuf Goran, the minister of HESR for the continuing support for the private universities.
The Bachelor Degrees were given to the 1543 Graduates
In the ceremony after their official oath and based on the deans requests, the bachelor degree were given to the 1543 graduates.
The Top Graduated Students were praised gifts
After giving gifts to the first, second, and third top graduated students of the college by Dr. Yusuf Goran, the minister of HESR, the ceremony done.
