His Excellency Professor Dr. Dlawer A. Ala’Aladeen officially opened the first University Fair in Iraq held in Erbil on October 13 to 15, 2011. About 1,500 Iraqi students attended the fair and met with representatives from 22 U.S. universities and higher education organizations.
All the universities at the Fair offer Conditional Admission to Iraqi/Kurdistani HCDP scholarship students. U.S. Consul General Alexander Laskaris joined Dr. Dlawer in welcoming the U.S university representatives to Erbil.
Workshops took place on the lower level while students browsed the university tables and spoke with representatives of the 22 universities and higher education organizations. The College Fair was sponsored by EducationUSA and the Institute for International Education. EducationUSA is a program of the U.S. Embassy in Baghdad.
