Crude oil export from the Kurdistan Region to Ceyhan has been interrupted since Tuesday 16th February following attacks on the export pipeline near Urfa in Turkey.

Such attacks directly damage the welfare of the people of Kurdistan Region and harm the KRG’s ability to pay its Peshmerga and fund the fight against ISIS.

With the drop in the global oil price, the KRG is already struggling to pay the salaries of its brave Peshmerga and other security forces from its oil export revenue. These attacks only make the battle against terrorism harder.

The Ministry of Natural Resources condemns the theft attempts and the perpetrators of this sabotage inside Turkey and calls for better controls to immediately stop their actions, which cause harm to our people in Iraqi Kurdistan.

MONTHLY EXPORT AND PRODUCTION DATA

As per KRG's agreement with the Iraqi government and under the 2015 Budget Law
