Monday 7 August 2006, Erbil, Kurdistan - Iraq (KRG) – Within the rights set out in the Iraqi constitution, the Kurdistan Regional Government today circulated for discussion the first draft of a new proposed petroleum law.
The proposed law covers anti-corruption provisions, conduct of petroleum operations, local participation, resolution of disputes and penalty provisions. The draft law is supported by a proposed model production sharing agreement.
