KOGHI was launched in September by Minister Hawrami at a meeting with the oil and gas companies operating in the Kurdistan Region.
The Kurdistan Region has set its eyes on two ambitious production goals: 1 million barrels of oil equivalent per day by 2015 and 2 million barrels of oil equivalent per day by 2019.
The government’s non-flaring policy has directed all available gas primarily to the generation of power, making the Kurdistan Region the highest holder of electricity supplies in all of Iraq.
Our rich and still untapped mineral resources can help diversify and bolster Iraq’s and the Kurdistan Region’s economy.
