Dr. Yusuf Goran meets with Displacement and Migration Committee of the Iraqi Parliament

                                                                        The KRG has offered help to the Iraqi Internal displaced people who are residing in the Kurdistan Region, including 20000 Iraqi students of higher education who made their exams in the Kurdistan region.
 
And were provided with lecturers, all necessities, and offices of the Iraqi universities were opened in
the region, but due to the region's economic situation we can no more continue with our help.
 
However, The Iraqi government has not made needed cooperation with the region. The Iraqi central government should have offered funds to the Iraqi Internal displaced people, "Dr. Yusuf Goran, the KRG Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research said.
 
This statement by Dr. Yusuf Goran came during his reception of a delegation from the Displacement and Migration Committee within the Iraqi Council of Representatives, including Raed Hamid, Head of the Committee, and Dr. Salam Khoshnaw, the Undersecretary of the Iraqi Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
 
The delegation visited the KRG Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research on February 23, 2015 in Erbil. 
 
Raed Hamid appreciated the efforts by the KRG and the KRG Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research about aiding Iraqi displaced students, saying that they will continue to develop cooperation and coordination with the region, since the Kurdistan region, despite its own financial crisis, offered much support to the Iraqi internal displaced people. 
 
Regarding the financial crisis between Kurdistan region and the Iraqi central government, as well as cutting salaries of KRG employees by Baghdad, Raed Hamid said:" Through the Iraqi parliament, we wills surely call on the Iraqi government to end this issue and salaries of KRG employees to be distributed in its own time, and political issues would not cause cutting salaries of the people of Kurdistan region." 
 
On his part,   Dr. Salam Khoshnaw appreciated the efforts by the KRG and the KRG Ministry of
Higher Education and Scientific Research about aiding Iraqi displaced students.
 
Finally, Dr. Yusuf Goran said:" We have done what ever we could to help the Iraqi internal displaced people, but due to unstable conditions and the region's economic situation we can no more continue with our help. Meanwhile the Iraqi government has not made needed cooperation with the region for helping the displaced people.
 
As per this, we call on the Iraqi government to assistant the displaced people, especially in the higher education aspect, financial crisis between Kurdistan region and the Iraqi central government to be solved, and salaries of the people of Kurdistan region to be sent."
