The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and after using all available channels of official correspondence to alert the president of British Royal University that the use of the current name of the University is legally inappropriate, still lead to a misunderstanding to students and public.
The stand of the ministry is based on a legal basis in order to preserve the higher interests of individuals in the region. But unfortunately the university did not comply with the ministry`s resolutions but on the contrary took the case to the court.
After consideration of the case before the court decision by the Shura Council, the view was that decisions issued by the Ministry of Higher Education about changing the name of the university and the resolutions set out are made on legal basis.
The Shura Council through its resolution No. 10 of 04/04/2011 states that the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research has the right of control and supervision of all universities, whether governmental or Private. It is also mentioned in resolution of the Shura Council that the university is misleading the students and the public, and this is contrary to paragraph 2 of Article 21 of the Trade Act No. 30 of 1984, as amended.
