Dr. Yusuf Goran, the KRG Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, on Tuesday May 19, 2015 received, Dr. Bell Wali, director of the Commission for International Justice and Accountability (CIJA) and an accompanying delegation.
Dr. Bell Wali clarified the aim of their visit, and said: “Our organization have a project in the Kurdistan region which is related to the courts and the justice system.”
He also asked the KRG Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research to cooperate them through providing staff; especially those professors and students who are specialized in the areas of judicial investigation, criminal investigation, legal investigation, and the legal translation.
He also clarified that they will open training courses for those persons, accordingly they will acquire good experiences in the areas of collecting data on crimes, and learning translation in a standard way. He indicated that in the first step they will implement their project in Erbil.
On his part, Dr. Yusuf Goran welcomed the delegation and described the project as important and said: “We have talented professors and students in our universities who can implement the project those duties, especially those professors who are working in the areas of judicial investigation, criminal investigation, and legal investigation.”
Mr. Goran reiterated his support for succeeding the project, and asked the delegation to identify their needs of specialized staff via formal documents and send it to the ministry in order they can cooperate with them.
