The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research announced that in the purpose of encouraging the scientific research centers, we are working to compose a special instruction to have license to open non-public scientific research centers in Kurdistan Region in which will be an academic center to analyze the societies various issues and problems.
This announcement of Dr. Yusuf Goran, the Ministre of Higher Education and Scientific Research was during welcoming a delegate of the Kurdistan Union Teachers delegate on Apr 18th, 2016 at the ministry’s office.
In the meeting, Dr. Karim Salih Abdul, minister’s advisor, Dr. Muhammad Sabir, general director of study bureau, planning, and following, Abdul Wahid Muhammad Haji, the head of Kurdistan Union Teachers were present. He assured the continuous relationship of its organization with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. Regarding that, he pointed to some university and institute study relevant matters and their impact on the economic situation at all levels.
In reverse Dr. Yusuf Goran, the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research after welcoming the delegate and said, “Though the financial and economic crises of Kurdistan Region, our ministry continues in enhancing and improving the projects which are in our agenda. They will lead to improve higher education situation in our region.” He brought the ranking of universities, as instance, in which nevertheless of the crises, the ministry keeps doing these projects also.
Regarding increasing the number of teachers at the scientific subjects of universities, the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, emphasized on more focusing on the scientific subjects of math, physic, biology, English...etc. He said that is supposed to increase the number of master and PhD scholarship seats for those subjects till the number of the teachers of those fields are increased.
In another part of the meeting, Dr. Yusuf Goran, emphasized the importance role of the Scientific centers and said “In the aim at enhancing the scientific center of research in Kurdistan, now we are working on composing instruction to get license for the non-public scientific research centers in Kurdistan Region till they will be the source of having research on society especially the education aspect.
In the end of the meeting, the members of the Kurdistan Union Teachers expressed their notes and suggestions about the higher education and the important topics of the day.
