                                                                German DAAD Organization Offer Scholarships to the students who need financial aid in Kurdistan Region and Syrian Refugees in Kurdistan

This decision of DAAD-German based organization came up at a meeting between the top responsible person of the organization with The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research in April 11th 2016 in his visit to The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research

In the meeting, Dr. Amanj Saadi, The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research’s spokesperson, and Dr. Jwan Shareef, the general director of sending students to abroad were present with Ms. Didar Dawdi, the DAAD-German based organization representative discussed about coordination between The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the organization.

In the beginning of the meeting, Crista Huilshourstar, the top responsible of DAAD organization said, “With our pleasure after some exchanging idea and proposals with The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, we decided to help The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in tri-sides in which decided to offer some scholarship to the Syrian refugees till they will be able to study via parallel system of study in Kurdistan Universities for PhD, Master, and Bachelor.  At the same time, another part of the offers will be dedicated to the students of Kurdistan Region who need financial aids and the mechanism of fulfilling these decisions in coordination with The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.”

In another part of the meeting, the top responsible of the organization said, “Our organization will help The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research to fulfil the project of the Scientific Research Council and said that the proposal of the project has been delivered to the organization and they are busy of carrying it out.  Referring to this, in the starting the projects numbers of the decision maker of the German Scientific Research Council will visit Kurdistan Region this year.

In the end of his speech, Crista Huilshourstar showed his organization’s readiness about the decentralization of Administration at The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research is working on by sending a great number of experts of the field to Kurdistan Region to participate in the forums in which The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research wants to hold.

For this, Dr. Yusuf Goran, the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, after welcoming the guest, showed his express of happiness to the coordination of the DAAD Organization and described it as an achievement in the education of Kurdistan Region and hoped to keep in touch to increase the academic and scientific contacts between both sides.
