Special Committee formed for proposing Job Titles for Graduates

 The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research of the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) formed a special committee for proposing job titles for graduates of colleges and institutes according to their specializations and certificates.

Abas Akram, the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research's Spokesman, said: “Dr. Yusuf Goran, the KRG Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research issued a ministerial order dated 06/05/2015 and numbered (8768) about the formation of an eight-member committee tasked with labeling job titles for graduates of colleges and institutes according to their specializations and certificates.”
 
“Before this decree, we addressed a formal document to all Kurdistan Region universities and institutes to identify departments that do not have special job-titles for graduates for the purpose of appointment in the KRG ministries and offices. Recently, responses from the universities and institutes reached the ministry via formal documents. According to the documents, 23 faculties and 71 colleges in the region have not got job titles for their graduates in case of employment in the KRG offices,” the spokesman added.
 
He also said: “The duty of the committee will be proposing proper job titles for graduates according to the specialization of their certificates. Then, the committee’s suggestions will be addressed to the Presidency of the KRG Council of Ministers, later to the Kurdistan Region Parliament in order to be passed and job titles to be granted according to the low.” 
 
Recently, dozens of students from the departments of Political Sciences, Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals and Medical Micro-Biology took to the streets and demanded job titles to be identified for them, in order to have better chances for employment after graduation.
