Classification of contractors
As per regulation no. 1 of 2007 for (Regulation on Registration, classification and grading of Contractors in Kurdistan Region) the referral of construction contracting to contractors is done according to the grades as follows:

Grade One: any amount but no less than 1.5 billion IDs.

Grade Two: no more than 4 billion IDs.

Grade Three: no more than 3 billion IDs.

Grade Four: no more than 2 billion IDs.

Grade Five: no more than 1 billion IDs.

Grade Six: no more than 750 million IDs.

Grade Seven: no more than 500 million IDs.

Grade Eight: no more than 300 million IDs.

Grade Nine: no more than 200 million IDs.

Grade Ten: no more than 100 million IDs.
Accordingly, the referral of electrical, mechanical and chemical contracting to contractors is done according to the grades as follows:

Grade One: any amount.

Grade Two: no more than 3 billion IDs.

Grade Three: no more than 2 billion IDs.

Grade Four: no more than 1.5 billion IDs.

Grade Five: no more than 500 million IDs.
In this regards, the construction contracting companies are registered with grades (one to five) and electrical, mechanical and chemical contracting companies with grades (three to one).
To this regard, the applicant for registration and grading must present the necessary documents and certificates proving the legal existence of the contractor. All the documents and certificates must be certified by the relevant parties. The relevant application form for this purpose must be completed.
The foreign contractors are registered according to the provisions of this Regulation provided that they present their application to the Committee along with all the necessary documents and certificates certified by the relevant agencies in accordance with related legal provisions.For more information please click here
