On 17/01/2011 H.E. Dr. Ali Sindi, KRG Minister of Planning received a Bulgarian trade delegation. The delegation expressed their satisfaction of Kurdistan’s wide development, which is the contributing factor to the expanding European diplomatic and trade presence in the Region. The delegation stated that the Bulgarian government intends to open a Trade Representation in Erbil in the near future. This will facilitate the access of the Bulgarian businesses to the Kurdistan market. Adding that the Bulgarian businesses are attracted to Kurdistan particularly in the electricity sector as they have wide experiences in providing electricity to countries like Turkey and Syria.
The Minister stated that the Expanding European presence is a good signal and would eventually contribute to the development process of the Region. H.E. finally expressed the MoP’s willingness to provide facilitation and assistant.
