On March 26, 2010 His Excellency Dr Ali Sindi, KRG Minister of Planning, received Mr.Colin Gleichmann, head of GTZ, the German government’s international cooperation organization, and his accompanied delegation.
They discussed the importance of development and human capacity building in the Kurdistan Region, particularly as the Region’s peace and security facilitates increased investment projects in both the public and private sectors. The Minister mentioned the population increase in Iraq and the Kurdistan Region, which has contributed to a rise of unemployment, especially amongst youth , as indicated byKRG and MoP surveys. The delegation expressed its willingness to cooperate and offer support in establishing training centres and provide training to reduce unemployment. The Minister expressed the MoP and the KRG’s relevant agencies’ support for GTZ.
