20/07/2011, Erbil - Both classification committees in the Federal and Regional Ministries of Planning held a joint meeting. In a press conference heads of the classification committees informed the press about the outcomes of the meeting.

Mr. Ayob Galali, head of the classification committee in the KRG minister of planning said that a high level delegation from the Federal Government are here to improve coordination between the two sides on classification methods. “After few meetings we decided to establish a joint team to come up with information sharing mechanism and develop cooperation between both sides and facilitate contactors works anywhere in Iraq. We have also decided to review the classification regulations in Iraq and Kurdistan Region within the next two month.” Mr. Galali told the press.

Ms. Sahdia Muhammad, D.G of Legal Affairs in the Federal Ministry of Planning and head of the classification committee stated that the aim of the two days meeting was to find a common mechanism between the Federal and Regional government in relation to the company and contractor classification. She added that from now on the Iraqi companies can work in Kurdistan Region and the Kurdistani companies can work in the other parts of Iraq without any problems.
