
Erbil, 2/7/2012 – The KRG Ministry of Planning recently marked the release of three very important surveys for the Kurdistan Region-Iraq: MICS-4, IKN, and I-WISH. The surveys were conducted by the MoP’s Kurdistan Region Statistics Office (KRSO), alongside the Iraqi Central Statistics Office (CSO),and with the great assistance of a number of international organizations, UNICEF, UNDP, and WHO among them.
H.E. Dr. Ali Sindi delivered the opening remarks, highlighting some of the surveys’ findings, and emphasizing the importance of the surveys as credible sources for current data on the region. Dr. MarzioBabille, Chief of Party for UNICEF-Iraq, followed H.E. with a presentationexplaining the MICS-4 survey’s most important findings. H.E. Dr. Sindi took questions from the press at the conclusion of the meeting.
