Under the auspices of the KRG Ministry of Planning and the presence of NawzadHadi, Erbil governor and chairman of the Census Operation Room of Erbil governorate, and Tahir Abdullah, Erbil deputy governor and head of Kurdistan Regional Statistics Office (KRSO), and in coordination with Erbil Statistics Office, KRSO launched a training course on population and housing census in High City Hall in Erbil.

In this 6-day course, more than 100 supervisors and teachers from the General Directorate of Education within Erbil area and its districts and sub-districts are participating.
During the opening ceremony, NawzadHadi gave a speech stressing the importance of the census process and the participation of Kurdistan Region in it at all levels, particularly the political and social ones”.
Then, the representative of the General Directorate of Erbil Education spoke about the process and highly evaluated the efforts made and the role played by teachers in this process. The course started its ordinary activities in which a range of topics on census,renewing house numbering in the cities, towns, and alleys, and the mechanism of their implementation will presented by specialists toenable the trainees to conduct similar courses for other teachers in their areas.
It is worth mentioning the census process will be held on October 24, 2010 in the whole Iraq and Kurdistan Region.
