December the 15th of 2013 His Excellency Dr Ali Sindi, the Minister of Planning, received Mariko Senda, Project Formulation Advisors for the Japanese International Cooperation Agency (JICA), and his accompanying delegation. In the meeting, they discussed cooperation and coordination between the Ministry of Planning and JICA. They also highlighted the Agency’s projects related to agriculture and electricity and water and sanitation and technical support in Kurdistan region and human capacity building.
The 2014 (JICA) program in KRI which currently two projects are under consideration one is the consultancy service for water project in Erbil province and second stage infrastructure building of region electricity project. These two projects will be implemented under the loan agreement between Iraq and Japan.
At the end of Bilateral meeting the Minister of Planning showed his government gratitude toward Japanese people and its government for their continues cooperation and friendships, and both sides Emphasized that the good relation between two country's will continues, and (JICA) projects should be increased in Kurdistan region.
