Erbil, December 18, 2012 – In the presence of Shirwan Asaad, the KRG Deputy Minister of Planning, Zagros Fattah, Director General of Development Cooperation and Coordination, Artur Hovhannisyan, manager of Synergy International, and Sunil Kumar, specialist in the program of the Kurdistan Development Management System KDMS, the Ministry of Planning held a seminar on KDMS at Martyr Saad Hall in Erbil.
KDMS is an online tool used to fully manage the workflow of the investment projects for the Kurdistan Regional Government. This system has a great importance as a reliable source of data and information on the distribution of projects by sectors, governorates and the implementing parties. The system operates as a master database to collect information and provide detailed reports on the progress of projects, which secures transparency of the budget and the best implementation of projects. KDMS can also prepare analytical reports and charts with different specifications that meet the requirements of the user. It also provides maps according to geographic inputs, and thus can show pictures of projects under implementation to the sub-district level.
At the end of the seminar, the Ministry of Planning thanked all attendees and participants, and hoped to put this system into action successfully through the cooperation and coordination of all stakeholders in order to serve the Kurdistan Region.
