11/08/2011, Erbil – H.E. Dr. Ali Sindi received Ms Christine McNab, the Deputy Special Representative of the Secretary General to Iraq. In a meeting they discussed the Iranian shelling of the Iraqi border areas, co-financing projects, NGO law and capacity building.
Dr. Sindi highlighted the KRG’s official position in relation to the Iranian shelling of the borders and requested UN assistant for the refugee influx as the result of the bombing. Ms McNab stated that the UN closely monitors the situation and mobilize all possible support for the refugees.
Finally both sides emphasized the importance of co-financing projects in the coming year. Dr. Sindi presented a copy of the KRG’s Strategic Development Plan, which is drafted by the MoP for 2012-2016.
