On 23/01/2011 the KRG Quality Control’s Operation Room held a meeting under the supervision of H.E. Dr. Ali Sindi, KRG Minister of Planning, and membership of representatives of all the KRG ministries and Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Erbil, Sulaimani and Duhok.

In the meeting the Minister of Planning highlighted the current economic and trade situation of Kurdistan. The Minister stated that after the great expansion of the trade relations between Kurdistan and other countries, the KRG needs to insure the quality of the imported goods and products.

The participants agreed on the needs to better control the borders and improve the testing system in order to insure that all the imported goods are suitable for human consumption and do not harm the environment.
