
On 26/04/2011, Dr. Ali Sindi, KRG Minister of Planning, met with Mr. Christopher Maroshegyi, UNESCO’s Natural Sciences Consultant to discuss the latest developments of the Hydrogeological Survey project.
This project is implemented by UNESCO in Iraq and Kurdistan Region to survey the underground water, identify the true size of water scarcity and make practical recommendations to the Iraqi and KRG governments.
Mr. Maroshegyi made a presentation on the project’s phase one and the preparations for phase two. Dr. Ali emphasized the importance of this project and its relevance to strategic planning, urban planning, agricultural development and water management.
