Erbil, 6 September 2012 – H.E. Dr. Ali Sindi recently wrapped up a three day trip to the Economic Forum in the Malopolska Region of southern Poland, where he led a KRG delegation alongside Herish Muharam, Chairman of the Kurdistan Board of Investment. The delegation’s visit follows an agreement signed in 2011 to promote economic, education, and political cooperation between Kurdistan and the Malopolska Region.
While attending the Economic Forum, Dr. Sindi met with regional leaders from Malopolska, including the head of the Region Marshall Marek Sowa, in order to explore concrete ways to continue strengthening cooperation within the existing agreement. Dr. Sindi also delivered a speech at the Forum entitled Prospects for Economic Cooperation Between the Region of Kurdistan and European Regions, to an audience of policy makers and business people from all over Europe. The speech highlighted the important role regional governments play in the economic and social well being of their residents and emphasized the need for greater economic cooperation between Kurdistan and regions throughout Europe.
