March 13, 2012 – HE Dr. Ali Sindi, Minister of Planning of the Kurdistan Regional Government, received Mr. Ziad Badr, Country Director for the International Finance Corporation (IFC) of the World Bank in Iraq, and the delegation accompanying him.

During the meeting, Ziad Badr briefed of IFC's projects in Iraq and the Kurdistan Region, especially granting loans to private sector companies in Iraq and the Kurdistan Region. He further highlighted IFC’s support to the public sector in the preparation of PPP (Public –Private Partnership) projects through conducting feasibility studies for them, and bringing foreign investors to the Kurdistan Region.

On his part, Minister of Planning emphasized KRG’s willingness in achieving PPP projects with international bodies, and currently it has several projects of this kind with a number of international institutions and agencies under implementation. Dr. Sindi also requested the IFC to assist the private sector in the Kurdistan Region to contribute more to the development of the region.
