The Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) does not issue passports. The federal government of the Republic of Iraq has the exclusive authority to issue Iraqi passports. Iraqi passports are only issued to citizens of Iraq.
In order to apply for an Iraqi passport, applicants must complete an application, provide the necessary documentation and visit the subsidiary Directorate of Passports within their area of residence.
General Requirements:
1. Provide personal information
2. Complete address
3. Two (2) color photocopies of Identification documents, i.e. Civil Status Identification, Iraqi nationality Certificate/Card (Jinsiya)
4. Four (4) identical photographs. Photos must be current, have been taken against a white backdrop and must measure 45x35 mm in size.
5. Application fee
6. The form must be filled out according to the information appearing on the applicants official Iraqi ID (Civil Status Identification) 1. In the event that there is no surname on the ID, the name of the third grandfather will be taken instead of the surname.
Additional documents or information may be requested in support of the application. Failure to complete all the requirements will result in delays and/or rejection of application.
