Erbil, Kurdistan Region, Iraq (DFR.GOV.KRD) – Head of the Department of Foreign Relations (DFR), Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) Minister Safeen Dizayee on Sunday received Mr. Willem Nicolaas Cosijn, Consul General of Netherlands to say farewell at the end of his tenure in the Kurdistan Region.
During the meeting, Minister Dizayee thanked the Dutch Consul General for his service and role in contributing to the strengthening of the Kurdistan Region and Netherlands ties and cooperation and hoped that he would continue his friendship with the people of the Kurdistan Region, which he should always consider his second home.
He also commended Mr. Cosijn’s role in promoting bilateral relations, especially in the economic, investment and agricultural infrastructure fields.
Minister Dizayee said; “The KRG attaches great importance to the revitalization of the private sector, entrepreneurship, investment, agricultural sector, and development of a strong infrastructure which are top priorities for the KRG.”
For his part, the Dutch Consul General thanked the Head of DFR and KRG for their continued cooperation and support during his tenure in the office and hoped that the relations between the Kurdistan Region and the Netherlands will continue to strengthen further in the future at all levels.
The latest political, economic and health situation and developments in the Kurdistan Region and Iraq, as well as Erbil-Baghdad relations were also discussed during the meeting.
