Head of DFR receives new DSRSG/RC/HC for Iraq

Erbil, Kurdistan Region, Iraq (DFR.GOV.KRD) – Head of the Department of Foreign Relations (DFR), Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) Minister Safeen Dizayee on Sunday received Ms. Vojackova-Sollorano, the incoming Deputy Special Representative, in the United Nations Assistance Mission for Iraq (UNAMI) and Resident/ Humanitarian Coordinator along with OCHA representative in Iraq.

The DSRSG for Iraq visited the DFR to introduce herself and ask about information about the current state of refugees and IDPs in Kurdistan.

During the meeting, Minister Dizayee provided an overview on the latest developments in the Kurdistan Region and Iraq, as well as on the humanitarian situation, detailing how the KRG assists them in collaboration with UN agencies and international organisations.

Ms. Sollorano thanked and commended the KRG for welcoming the large number of refugees and IDPs. She also praised the government’s coordination with the UN and expressed her willingness for continued cooperation regarding humanitarian aid and development of key sectors of KRI’s infrastructure.
